Substitution Logic

Here you can configure, which user will be assigned instead of the absent user.

On this page:



  1. Login as JIRA Administrator
  2. Choose > Add-ons
  3. Select Absence for JIRA > Substitution Logic from the sidebar
    (info) Keyboard shortcut 'g' + 'g' + start typing 'Substitution Logic'
  4. You are presented with a list of new assignee that can be assigned to the user in case the selected assignee is absent
  5. You will also be presented with a help text how the logic works. See the right hand column on this page for more information
  6. To reorder the options drag the row by holding the mouse down on the burger icon ()  and pull the row up or down
  7. To enable/disable an option you can check the box on the right
  8. After you are done, click the "Save" button

Substitution Logic

You can reorder or disable the users as they are executed in order. If an user isn't an assignable user for the issue the next user in the list will be tried.

As a last measure it will be assigned to the absent user.
