Project Permissions

R4J allows the Jira Administrator to manage project specific permissions in addition to the global user permissions.

Project permissions can be configured for each project separately and are always granted to groups of users.

How to edit project permissions

Managing Permissions

  1. Login as Jira Administrator
  2. Choose > Projects and select a project. 
    (info)Keyboard shortcut'g' + 'g' + start typing 'projects'
  3. Select R4J - Requirements Management for Jira from the sidebar

    (info) If the menu item isn't displayed, the selected project has to be enabled for Requirements for JIRA.
  4. Set permissions
    1. To grant every user the desired permission select Restrict ... permissions > No
    2. To configure individual permissions select Restrict ... permissions > Yes
      Click on Add a group and select one or more groups you wish to grant the corresponding permission

Tree Item Permissions

Each of the tree item permissions has two sub-permissions: One for folders, one for issues

Create / Modify

Allows a user to create new tree items and edit any existing tree item in the selected project. It also restrict sorting of issues within a tree.

Delete

Allows a user to delete any tree item from the requirement tree of the selected project.

Move

Allows a user to move any tree item to another location in the same requirement tree.

Export

Allows the user to export any tree item from the requirement tree of the selected project.

View Specific Permissions

Private

Allows a user to create, modify and delete private views in Coverage and Traceability views.

Public

Allows a user to create, modify and delete public views in Coverage and Traceability views.

Export

Allows a user to export the content of a Coverage and Traceability view.

Scheduling Permissions

Create

Allows a user to create rules for scheduled adding of issues on the selected project.

Only the author of a rule is allowed to edit it.

The author is allowed to view and edit his own rules although he might not be permitted to create rules anymore.

Delete

Allows a user to delete any rule created on the selected project.

Baseline Permissions

Permissions to view and edit baselines in R4J can be granted individually on both, global level and project level. 
A distinction is made between accessing baselines via "View All Baselines" from the main menu bar and the project specific baseline view.
Project specific permissions only grant/restrict access to the project specific baseline view of the corresponding project. 

View

Allows a user to view any baseline from the selected project.

Create

Allows a user to create new baselines within the selected project.

Modify

Allows a user to modify any baseline from the selected project.

Delete

Allows a user to delete any baseline from the selected project.

Export

Allows a user to export any baseline from the selected project.
