Reading View

Overview

The reading view displays the items of a project tree in a form that is convenient for reading. The view uses the same hierarchical structure of the items as the project tree. To access the view, select a folder or issue in the tree and then select the Reading View icon from the easeRequirements navigation bar in the upper right. Within this view the issue field details can also be modified.

The reading view displays images inline, both in issues and folders. You can attach images to requirements or folders and add links in their descriptions to achieve this.

Open reading view

  • Select an issue or folder in the project tree.

  • Select the Reading View icon in the EaseRequirements navigation bar.

Edit field inline

  • To modify the value of a field directly, select it.

  • Modify the value as desired.

  • Select Save or the checkmark.

Cloud Due to Jira library limitations, the following elements used by the Jira Rich Text Editor (RTE) cannot be supported by easeRequirements: Mentions and Emojis. If you try to edit a field containing any of these elements, a prompt gives the information that this content is not available in this editor, but it will be preserved when you edit and save this field.

Data Center Jira administrators can enable/disable inline editing capabilities by setting “Allow inline editing“ permissions.

Expand/collapse

  • Select the caret on the left of the issue or folder key to expand or collapse the items under it.

Access tree view operations

The context menu provides the same operations that are available in the tree view - see Context Menu Operations.

  • Hover on an issue in the reading view.

  • Select the ellipses icon (…) on the left side of a folder or issue.

  • Select the desired operation.

Configure display fields

By default, the reading view displays the Key, Summary, and Description fields of requirements. The user can change the selection of fields, which is saved and used till a different selection of fields is made. See Display Fields Configuration.
