Comparison of easeRequirements Ultimate Cloud and Data Center Features
Summary
easeRequirements Ultimate Cloud already delivers most advanced requirements engineering capabilities available in the Data Center edition while introducing a modern, API-driven cloud architecture. Core Ultimate features such as Review Cockpit, Data Modeler, PlantUML integration, baselines, traceability, and advanced exports are already available with strong functional parity. The Cloud edition additionally benefits from deeper Jira integration, automation support, scalable baseline handling, improved search capabilities, and enhanced REST API extensibility. Several remaining differences, such as advanced baseline operations, glossary support, and extended suspect monitoring, are already planned or actively evolving. Overall, easeRequirements Ultimate Cloud provides a modernized and continuously expanding enterprise requirements management platform that is steadily converging toward full Data Center feature parity while already offering architectural and operational advantages.
Details
The easeRequirements Ultimate application has two different implementations, one for Jira Cloud and the other for Jira Data Center (DC). In general, both implementations have the same or very similar functionality. However, a few features are not yet implemented in Cloud and in some cases, there are differences in functionality between Cloud and DC. The following table lists the features and describes any differences in the state of implementation. This page will be regularly updated.

DC: A generated PNG can be saved directly to an issue and shown inline (e.g. in the description). When the diagram is regenerated, the existing image is updated in place. Cloud: Saving the PlantUML output works the same way, but Atlassian Cloud handles attachments differently — each upload gets a unique ID, so a regenerated image cannot replace the previous one. The new image must be uploaded into the description manually each time.

Development in progress, the Cloud version will be extended: instead of being limited to dragging from a right-hand panel to a left-hand panel, any issue key will be drag-and-droppable onto any other issue key in the view to link issues.

DC allows importing any ReqIF file, as long as a ReqIF mapping is provided. Cloud currently only supports ReqIF import from a DC instance as part of the migration from DC to Cloud. Development in progress.
DC provides export in ReqIF format with a ReqIF mapping. Cloud does not currently provide export in this format. Development in progress. |
