Execution of test cases

Description

When you run a test case, which could be a single test or a test plan, an execution is created.
A test execution contains the executed test and its test steps in case of a single test execution.
In case of the execution of a test plan the execution contains all tests of the plan and their test steps.
For every test and test step contained the execution saves the corresponding test result and status.

Parameters used in test steps will be replaced by specified data during the execution.

Operations

Executions for single tests can be created and started from any definition tree containing the corresponding test.
Test plan executions can be created and started from the plan tree of the corresponding test plan.

...

A test execution is created when you execute a test plan or an individual test case. The execution records the test cases, their test steps and the corresponding results and status, as well as additional information such as the time of execution and various statistics. Executions can be interrupted and resumed at a later time.

...

Test executions are accessed in the Execution View.

The Test Runner is used to work through the various test cases included in a test execution and supports setting the status of the execution (pass or fail) and documenting the test results.
