  1. In case of restricted access, to use ReqIF export and import in R4J, the user must have “ReqIF Export/Import“ permissions. See Managing User Permissions.

  2. There should be existing ReqIF Field Mappings. See Configuring ReqIF mappings.

Generate a new export via Project Tree View

  1. Switch to the tree view of the project you like to update or extend with the data from the ReqIF file:

    1. either click on Requirements in the main navigation bar and select a project from Current Project or Recent Projects

    2. or select Requirements > View all projects from the main navigation bar and select a project from the list.

  2. Select a folder item from the project tree.
    The new data is stored below of the selected folder. 

  3. Right click on the item to open the context menu, select Import ReqIF.

  4. Click Choose File to select the ReqIF file for import.

    1. The file format for import must follow the ReqIF standard, or it could be (ZIP) compressed.

  5. Select the mapping configuration you want to use for the import.
    The field mapping between the Jira issues and the fields in the ReqIF XML file are shown.

  6. Press Import to start the process.

  7. The finished process will show an import statistic statistic.
