Overview

The requirement detail view displays the information about a requirement. The view is located on the right side of the project tree view and is visible if a requirement is selected in the project tree. Requirements are Jira issues, so the information in the detail view is, in principle, the same as the information in the standard Jira issue view, but extended with also includes additional sections for features provided by R4JeaseRequirements.

In the top right of the view, you can edit the issue using the standard Jira edit dialog or transition the requirement status through the applied workflow.

Issues

Navigate to the issue in the tree: Click on an issue key link to navigate to the requirement in the tree.

Linked Issues

This section displays the links, issue key, and summary of the child requirements of the selected requirement, and provides additional features for requirement management.

Sort the table entries: Click in the column headers.

Create a new child issue: Open the Create Issue dialog to create a new issue(s) and add them as children of the issue.

Add an existing issue: Open the Add Existing Issues dialog and add existing Jira issues as children of the issue.

Remove child issue: Hover on the child issue then select the (x) icon to open the remove confirmation dialog.

The section also provides the Link Graph tool, which displays the selected requirement and its linked requirements as nodes in a graph, with links displayed as edges between the nodes. The nodes can be expanded and collapsed to reveal other linked requirements. 

View all link entries in one unified link table. The following sections in older versions have been merged where different link operations are available based on the origin.

This section displays all the attached files to the requirement

Revisions

This section displays the revisions of the selected requirement, including the revision number, timestamp, the user responsible for the change, and a description of each change.

This section displays all the comments in the requirement.

Edit Issue

  • Select Edit in the top right of the view.

This action opens the standard Jira Edit Issue dialog. Some fields (e.g. Summary and Description) can also be edited inline, directly in the detail view, by selecting the value.

Transition Issue

  • Select a status from the dropdown in the top right of the view.

  • Select the icon to the right of the issue key.

Create a new child issue

You can also create multiple child issues by selecting the option Create another.

Add an existing issue

  • Select in the top right of the section.

  • Select Add existing issues.

  • Complete the Add Existing Issues dialog.

  • Select Add.

Remove child issue

  • Hover on the child issue.

  • Select the X icon.

  • Select Remove in the dialog.

The issue is not deleted, but only removed from the child issues.

Open child issue in tree

  • Select the issue key.

If the issue is not in the project tree,

a new tab opens which loads it in the Jira issue view.

Issues in this Epic

Lists the issues under the selected Epic.

This section is only shown for the Epic issue type.

Sort the table entries: Click in the column headers.

Navigate to the issue in the tree: Click on an issue key link to navigate to the requirement in the tree.

Create a new linked issue

: Open

  • Select in the top right of the section.

  • Select Create linked Issue.

  • Complete the Create Linked Issue dialog

and create a new issue to link to the issue.

Add link: Open the Add Link dialog and link the issue to another Jira issue, Confluence page, or web link.

Remove issue link: Hover on the issue link then select the (x) icon to open the remove confirmation dialog.

Navigate to the issue in the tree: Click on an issue key link to navigate to the requirement in the tree. If the issue is not in the tree, a new tab opens which loads it in the Jira issue view.

Link Graph: Open the Link Graph dialog, to display issue relations in visual form.

Revisions

Displays the revisions of the selected requirement, including the revision number, timestamp, the user responsible for the changes, and the changes themselves.
The section is collapsed by default.

Compare revisions: Compare two revisions by selecting their check boxes. The revision comparison dialog will always show the higher revision on the right side. Fields with values that changed between the revisions will be highlighted and the differences matched. Revisions can also be selected from the comparison dialog for easier review.

View revision details: Click on the revision number to open a dialog that shows the selected revision’s details.

Revisions

Open Revision Comparison

  • Select the checkbox of one of the issues to be compared in the column Compare.

  • Select the checkbox of the second issue to be compared.

The Revision Comparison dialog shows the selected revisions side by side, with the higher revision on the righthand side. Rows with fields whose values have changed between the two revisions are highlighted. The difference between the values of a changed field are also highlighted. Once the Revision Comparison dialog is open, different issues and revisions than those that were originally selected can be compared using the Issue and Revision dropdowns.

Info

Due to performance considerations, if the field value contains more than 1000 characters, exact difference of the values are not highlighted.

View revision details

  • Select the revision number.
