Overview

The reading view

provides an alternative perspective on the content of

displays the items in a tree folder

. It's located on the right side of the project tree view and is only visible if a folder is selected in the project tree.

The reading view displays the folder selected in the project tree and its contents as a list.

Operations

The reading view displays images inline, both in requirements and folders. You can attach images to requirements or folders and add links in their descriptions to achieve this.

Open detail view

Select the issue key of a requirement to

select the corresponding tree item in the project treeClick on

Expand/Collapse

    Other operations

    Select the ellipsis in the right corner of the folder header to expand or collapse all folders or to refresh the items in the folder.

    Display Fields

    By default, the reading view displays the

    issue

    key, summary, and description of

    a requirement. Additional fields can be added by selecting

    requirements. To add additional fields select the desired fields in the Display Fields

    drop-down selection. All standard custom field types are supported for display.Once the display fields are modified and

    dropdown and confirm the selection with the Display button

    Since the reading view may display

    Editing

    Inline editing in the reading view is supported for the following attributes:

    • Issue Summary
    • Issue Description
    • Folder Description

    Folder Attachments

    Attachments are also available for folders.

    Since the tree folder is a plugin specific feature, the custom upload for folder attachments currently only supports images. 

    The same functionality is available in the Properties dialog for folders which can be access through the folder context menu.

    To upload an attachment, click on the inline editable folder description field in the reading view. In edit mode, there is a drop zone below the editor where you can either drag an attachment into or click and open the file explorer. You can also trigger the file explorer by clicking on the folder attachment button located on the left side of the Save button in the editor and then clicking Browse.

    Once an attachment has been uploaded, a thumbnail is shown in the drop zone where the following operations are available:

    • Hover on attachment thumbnail to view file size and file name
    • Click on attachment thumbnail to open it in a new tab
    • Remove the attachment (removing an attachment will render a placeholder image if it is used in the description)
    To insert an attachment in the folder description, put the cursor to where the attachment needs to be inserted in the editor's text area. Click on the folder attachment button and click on the name of the attachment you want to insert into the description

    The summary and description of requirements, as well as the description of folders, can be edited inline in the reading view.
